Bhārat
Kasavu is the Malayalam name of Zari; a silk thread twisted with a thin silver wire, and dipped in pure gold. The saris of Kerala, a state in southwestern India, are known for their borders of Kasavu or gold embroidery. Balaramapuram in Kerala is one of the production centers with a history of the finest Kasavu weaving. Today there are around 21,687 looms and 45,598 registered weavers in the Balaramapuram vicinity.
