Jaipur – Udaipur

Frances Ronaldson is a London-based textile designer who leads study trips throughout India. Once a year, she partners with Wonderful Workshops, an organization conceived in collaboration with The Jaipur Virasat Foundation in Jaipur, India offering intensified programs that aim to safeguard the legacy of the region’s rich cultural folk heritage. The workshops are based on centuries-old traditional craft techniques and are led by local master craftsmen in collaboration with British professors, Natalie Gibson and Di Livey, from Central Saint Martins. I joined them this year, learning the intricate process of mud resist block printing using indigo and other natural vegetable dyes. What follows are some photos I took during my time there.
