Norra Fawn Brown / No. 002
One of our original knits. Named after the shores of Fårö, an island in the Baltic Sea at the northern tip of Gotland, Sweden. Norra translates to "north" in Swedish. Made from 100% baby alpaca, this garment is a medium-weight knit made in a traditional rice-weave stitch and ribbing at the neck, cuffs, and waist. This shape is similar to our unisex 001 Fårö, with a shorter cut, boatneck, and ¾ sleeves. The cut also comes in our lightweight-yarn knit, the Moray.

Fårö wears a famous crown: the genteel Hoburgsgubben, or the Hoburg gentleman. These limestone sea stacks stand gnarled and everlasting, composed of the same stone that forms the bedrock of the island itself. The oldest standing buildings on Fårö also wear lime, in the form of calcium carbonate that has been burned and slaked and made into mortar or plaster. The masons seemingly learned their craft from the rock itself.
